I am a retired Ministry of Defence Police
Officer. The Ministry of Defence Police, although one of the largest in
the country, is not well known to the general public, and I have included a
link to the Unofficial Web Site of the MoD Police on the Police Page.
My retirement, which I took early,
was so that I could care for my disabled soul mate Ann, she was everything to
me, and we had been
together for 30 years. I am devastated to say that Ann died on 31 July
2003.
On the
USA Holidays Page I have included
some photographs, of when Ann and I were able to holiday there. Ann
loved the USA, and I am pleased that I was able to take her there even though
she was in a wheelchair. I have also included links to Los Angeles and Cape
Cod, together with a link to the superb Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. Ann
and I
have many friends and family in the USA, living in Vermont, Boston and Los
Angeles. We have visited all these areas, and have always been impressed
by the welcome we have received, and the friendly nature of the American
people. I feel that I should also make reference to my French
friends, and I have added a page with Paris links.
On the Police Page, as well as the MoD Police, I have
included links to all the UK Police Forces . I have also added links the
Police Forces in Los Angeles, New York, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Their Web Sites make interesting reading and show the difference in policing
in other countries. There is even a commercial site for the LAPD.
I am pleased to say that I live in the South West of
England, and I have included some links to Bristol and the Georgian City of
Bath on My Area page.
Th
is
is a photograph of what I looked like when serving with the MoD Police at
RAF
Station Locking. It was taken a few years ago, but it is the only way
that people that I served with will recognise me. I should be very
pleased to hear from any of my ex-colleagues, or any of the RAF personnel, I
served with. My days at Locking were made very enjoyable by the support
and friendship I received there. I am sorry to say that the photo
on the right shows me in a more up to date light.
I have tried to
interest myself in the computer, and have had some success in running
Broadband Campaigns to bring Broadband to rural telephone exchanges. I
have to date run 4 Campaigns, all of which have been successful
.
I was fortunate enough to win a Broadband Campaigners Award from BT, and here
I am getting the Award in London.
As a result of visiting Finland to speak
at an International Conference on IT I met and married Svetlana, who is
Ukrainian. I have spent a lot of time in Ukraine and I very much
like the Ukraine people, their way of life, the beautiful Ukraine
countryside, the wonderful architecture and the weather, both the warm
summers and the very cold winters.
This needs no introduction. Is is the one of the
best search engines on the Web.
